My Third Book
My Third Book Is Almost Here!
Friends, it’s happening—Book Three is almost ready to take flight! Once my editor, Martha Doster, sends it back, I’ll make the final tweaks and load it onto Amazon. I know this one took a while—I even sat on it for two months before the words came back to me. But in August, the writing drive returned, and I powered through. I cannot wait to finally get this book into the hands of those who pre-bought it way back in April. Thank you for your patience—it means the world.
Life After CHI
Since April (and my last day with CHI Massage Therapy), so much has shifted. At first, I wondered if I should keep one foot in the massage world by trading sessions here and there. But my heart told me no—it was time to fully step into writing and the next chapter of my life.
Funny thing is, while I struggled to finish my book at first, clarity came through another path: coaching. I realized I didn’t want to be a “traditional coach.” Instead, by sharing my own story and practices, I discovered my lane—as an Unconventional Healer. That’s when Inner Water Reflection (IWR) was born, along with my first self-guided workshop. Even when the book felt stuck, the new business flowed.
Enter Josh
Out of the blue, Josh decided he wanted to try yoga. I had been going to my friend Olivia’s classes—she’s the founder of Yoga For First Responders® (YFFR®), a nonprofit she started 12 years ago. Her approach isn’t your typical yoga—it’s tactical, breath-focused, designed for first responders, military, and veterans.
Josh tried it once and never stopped. He loved it so much he got certified just a couple of months ago! I am so proud of him. The breath work changed his life, and soon we realized: his work and mine could merge beautifully under one roof.
From IWR to JC
The more we sat with it, the more we knew that Inner Water Reflection didn’t quite fit us anymore. Josh’s voice and mine needed a new container. That’s when Josh ’n’ Cat – Steady Under Fire (JC) was born.
We don’t have every direction figured out yet—but we both feel this is the truest start to our journey together.
Big Moves Ahead
Yes, the plan to move to Okinawa is still on! Mom is thrilled, too. For the first few months, she’ll spend extended time in Taiwan with her brother and sister (her only surviving siblings out of eight). We also wrote her into our business plan—since parents can’t count as dependents, we added her as a partner. She’s over the moon to officially be part of JC.
What’s Next
Outside of family and books, I already have two speaking gigs lined up for December and January. I’m stoked! I’m also finalizing my self-guided workshops so I’ll have solid offerings to share.
And yes, a book signing is on the horizon. I’ll keep you posted—I’d love to see familiar faces there!
Thank you for walking alongside me, through endings, beginnings, and everything in between. Book Three is almost here—and JC is just getting started.
