Lucky the BYRD: Turning the Page

The journey of my miscarriage and life, because the world doesn’t stop turning for me. A personal story about what happened to me, but also what was going on in my life. No sugar coating what happened - just a straight forward story and what I did to help me.

The Birth of

Lucky the BYRD

Cat experienced a miscarriage that sent her through a wild roller coaster of hormonal chaos. How was she supposed to tell her husband what she was going through? There was no words that could perfectly describe any of it, but she was somehow able to communicate what she needed from him.

This book was written to help those who are going through a miscarriage or postpartum depression. This book is your communication tool. You don’t have to read it, just pass it on to your husband or partner. Or read through it and underline what resonates with a translucent sticky note. This will give them an idea of what their roll is in supporting you.

Through a Miscarriage

Lucky the BYRD:

It was hard for Josh to even fathom what his wife was experiencing. It was more confusing when she doesn’t make any sense. Josh had no idea what he was even experiencing, but at that time, it didn’t matter, what mattered first hand was what he could do for her… but what could he do for her?

This book is written in his perspective and how he interpreted what Cat said she needed. Everything he did, indeed, gave her the support she needed.

The idea of

Steady Under Fire

My name is Cat and I started Steady Under Fire through my massage therapy business of 9 years. I learned so much about how our bodies work in conjunction with our nervous system, brain, somatic awareness, and generational patterns. I am here to share what I have learned.

My original plan was to get certified as a life coach, however, I feel like that will dilute what makes my teachings me. So, I decided to proceed the way I had helped so many clients through talk. Since I am not a coach or a licensed therapist, I call myself an Unconventional Healer.

Through personal experiences and observing clients, I have learned a lot about the human body, as a whole. This is how I am going to change the world. Sharing my stories and what worked for me to get to where I am at now.

Josh, my husband, is also joining me on this journey. He has his fair share of experiences. He found an organization called YFFR® (Yoga For First Responders®) and something compelled him to give their yoga a try. Never set foot into this kind of practice ever before. He loved it so much, he got certified in it himself and is now part of Steady Under Fire to help bring the body portion into this work to make it truly a work of the entire body.

Since he took on this new journey with YFFR®, he has been able to do things he couldn’t before. Even learned so many kinds of breathing exercises that it helped decrease his allergy symptoms that was so bad it kept him from having a full night sleep, ever.

Together we combine tactical breathwork, yoga, and unconventional healing to bring your mind, body, and somatic awareness into alignment—so you can reconnect with your whole self.

Ultimately, the idea is to help you be in such a steady space, you can stay steady in chaos, or under fire.
